Swedish Massage
This type of massage is designed with long, smooth strokes. Swedish Massage uses a collection of techniques that works to provide relaxation and stress relief by using light pressure. It helps to calm the body and mind, as well as promote the body’s own natural healing. It also provides you with a better sense of well-being.
Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage works deeper into the muscles to help relieve pain, soreness, and/or tight muscles. During this type of massage, it is common that trigger points or knots will be found and released. At times during the massage, a client may feel some pain or discomfort. If the discomfort or pain is outside your comfort level, please let me know. It is normal to feel temporary soreness a day or two after the massage.
Sports Massage This type of massage is generally used before or after athletic
events. The two most common types
of sports massage are pre-event and post event. Pre-event sports massage is used to warm-up and
stretch the muscles before the client's athletic event. This type of massage is done at a
faster pace with more moving of the client, so they are alert and in the
right frame of mind to perform. Post-event sports massage is more relaxing and used to drain away fatigue,
prevent swelling or relieve swelling, and reduce muscle tension and promote
flexibility.
Prenatal Massage Prenatal Massage is similar to a swedish massage, but it works to properly position and
support a woman by using pillows and padding. Prenatal massage helps to relax, calm, relieve tired and
sore muscles, and help with joint pain. It is a good idea to check with your
doctor to see if it is okay to get a massage while pregnant.
